Installation for PWS

  • Installation of PWS:
Personal Web Sharing is installed by default when installing MacOS. If you did not install it you can re-run the MacOS installer program and do a custom install of just Personal Web Sharing. Restart your Mac and you're ready to continue.

  • Configuring PWS:
There is really nothing to configuring PWS. Open the control pannel called "Web Sharing" and click on the start button. The default for the web pages directory is a folder called Web Pages just inside your hard disk, but you can set this to anywhere you like. This is where you will put the application.

  • Installing Tabs On The Web:
This program requires no special installation, it does not rely on any non-standard extensions (except PWS, if you are using that).
Open the "Web Pages" folder and create a new folder to contain the all and it's data. for this demo call the folder "directory"
drag the application and the "Tabs On The Web Data" folder into this folder.

In order to run the demo you will also need to place the directory_img folder into your server root.

You may have as many copies of the app running on the server as you need, however each one must be in a seperate folder so that it can find it's specific "Tabs On The Web Data" datafolder.
